» dantilles - Hoping for a French defeat

Is anyone else really hoping that France go out of the World Cup tomorrow? In Domenech I think they must have the worst manager in the tournament (although Sven pushes him close). On paper they have a brilliant team but on the pitch they somehow manage to play disastrously. My hat really must go off to any manager who can play a system which manages to make Thierry Henry look like a bad player. I really don’t understand his selection policy. He seems to have some inexplicable, petty, ongoing argument with Pires, while he also left out Champions League winner Guily, has continually ignored Micoud and decided not to call up Anelka despite some good performances in friendlies and the injury to Cisse. He certainly can’t use the excuse that any of these players are past there best as he picks Thuram, Makelele and Zidance in his first team.

Come on Togo!

Let's face it -- we're always hoping for a French loss. Amazing that a side with so many good players can play so badly.

Horribly I can see them beating the entertaining Spanish in the second round, the spoil-sports.
