Or not as the case may be. I was hoping they would go through the season without a home win because to be frank they are absolutely dreadful. Watching them play is worse than pulling teeth. Last season they went up as winners of the Championship, but since then they've bought poorly, shown little ambition in the transfer market (Nosworthy anyone?) and chosen to sack Mick McCarthy when it was too late. Hopefully they won't come back up next season, they simply don't deserve it.

Sunderland are not my only gripe. Fulham away this year have been equally bad. Normally I'm a fan of Chris Coleman (Fulham Manager) and his honest approach. But last night he said that he wouln't be berating his players after this defeat as they have won the last 3 matches. I know it's the end of the season but to lose to Sunderland is little more than a disgrace. Does that send out the right message to the fans?

Is that a Simpson-reference I see before me?
Sunderland may be awful but watching them was actually quite funny -- a Keystone Kops for the 21st century.
Fulham were terrible away -- I saw them at Villa Park in the dreariest of 0-0s. As Johan Cruyff said of Chelsea: "They make me detest football."

Coleman is good value for money and talks a good game. Malbranque has been superb for them, I can see Spurs buying him for their ever-expanding collection of midfielders.

They're also home to the most under-rated footballer in the Premiership -- Brian McBride.

McBride is most definitely underrated. A big shout out also to Pepe Reina, yet to receive the credit he deserves cos he's foreign, Stelios, who always seems to play well, Michael Dawson, an absolute class act who should play himself into the Euro 2008 squad, and Jamie Carragher, who never puts a foot wrong.
